DARKSIDER In the world of automotive hobbyists a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. The Darksiders are in a class of their own simply because they endeavor to be different and do things that others would not attempt for a number of reasons mostly being related to a lack of ability and fear of non conformity.

This is a forum for people who think outside the box in everything they do. It doesn’t matter if you are modifying or building from scratch. It doesn’t matter what brand or brands of vehicles or components you are using. It doesn’t matter if you are working on a mini car or a bus.

We will not be asking you for donations or any kind of monetary payments. We will be asking for help in terms moderators and encouraging you to spread the word and add to our membership.

    Hi Folks,

I'm looking for '89 to '97 T-Bird and Cougar independent rear suspension systems complete with disc brakes, differential and everything. Also found in Lincoln Mark 8's after '90 I believe.

I travel the Eastern U.S. primarily through Ohio, WV, VA, NC, SC, FL, GA, TN, & KY. If I am dead heading back with an empty trailer I can snag something down there if I know where it is and it can be winched into the trailer. I am willing to buy whole cars and in a lot of cases I don't care about a title unless it is something worth fixing and putting back on the road.

I know where two of them complete rears are, but you'ld have to come to Oregon to get them. You really need to be closer.

No, what I really need is for them to be closer to me. But hey, it never hurts to put out the word. You never know...

dave i got an irs outta that 91 here i dont think im gonna be using . it's drums though not discs , but you can go to oreillys and buy everything needed to put discs on . also the mustang cobras use this irs but it's hubs , which are a direct bolt on , are 5x41/2 vs. the birds 5x41/4 . and the stang uses a 31 spline diff / axles . the mark8's had aluminum carriers , a arms that saved 17 lbs per side , and have a 3.27 r&p standard whereas most birds had a 3.08 . make me an offer . by the way the wheels and tires stay , as i need 'em for my bird . the whole sub and all is here it's all still bolted together . as you prolly know it damn near bolts into our 53-56 trucks frame rails . you only have to tweek the front mounts slightly and boom it's in . the track width is even correct for the trucks . beware the v-6 irs's as they are based on the 7.5 center section , not the 8.8 like the v-8 cars , and not as strong . let me know . later !!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Kevin,
I'll have to let you know and it depends on my having any runs out your way. There is also a '97 Mark 8 being parted out nearby. Thanks for replying though. This is what's great about having a small board where everyone kind of knows everyone else and where they are.
