    OK Folks,
Here's the deal. I came across this car and I'm thinking about it.

    I need some help here.

This thing is uni-body and I was not aware that it was. That creates a special set of problems in restoring it.

I have one catalog of T-bird stuff from a place in Phoenix. I need some info on sources for body panels and floor pans.

Almost all of the trim is good and all of it is there.

I would be inclined to keep the exterior as is but I'm thinking restomod for drive train, and suspension. Maybe some nice alloy wheels, amd mostly custom interior.

I'm open to all ideas and suggestions.

I graduated from high school in '63 and I have sort of a thing for these cars. So forget economic feasibility cause it ain't there. It's a definite money pit.

    Later Folks...

Ya.. cool cars..My Mom had a 63/baby blue. She liked it. I only drove it a couple times..as that's about when I grew up and moved out etc. And if you like it, that's all that matters. I would guess that there's plenty of parts around, but don't know that for a fact. Maybe you might want to find one in better condition? Or are you like me and only attracted to the dead and dying cars? Smile I've seen similar cars languishing is someone's home garage that become available for almost nothing, and are sometimes in great shape. Have you been looking? Or did you just bump into this and it stirred the memory in you? I'm just thinking there might be a rust free car available and such so you could just do the mechanical upgrades and such. Not a requirement just thinking out loud. I usually pick the rust buckets myself..haha. Don't know why.

    Hi Tom,
Actually, I tend to think along both lines of thinking... There pros and cons to getting this particular car seem to tug at one another in the process of making a decision to buy or not to buy, that is the question... Being uni-body and having a lot of rust is a real negative factor. The other side of the coin is the fact that it's all there and the trim is all usable and in pretty good condition as well as all the glass. The real question is are there any body sections and panels available. And yes, I also tend to go for the rust buckets. It's a sickness that I seek no cure for.

Is this picture like the one your mom had?

Thanks Tom... I has it's flaws and needs a lot of TLC but I think that while I'm doing my other trucks I'll just drive it as a survivor, tinker with it and collect parts for it. I also have to get rid of some other stuff around here. Wife is not happy...
