I can guess that you are probably wondering if this place is right for you. Then again you may be thinking you don't need another forum to take up all your time. we understand...
This is not a place for lazy video game freaks. We Darksiders have been around doing our thing for decades before the mindless couch blobs latched onto the term Darksider.
DARKSIDER - In the world of automotive hobbyists, a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. The Darksiders are in a class of their own simply because they endeavor to be different and do things that others would not attempt for a number of reasons mostly being related to a lack of ability and fear of non conformity.
This is a forum for people who think outside the box in everything they do. It doesn’t matter if you are modifying or building from scratch. It doesn’t matter what brand or brands of vehicles or components you are using. It doesn’t matter if you are working on a mini car or a bus.
Allow me to make a few suggestions. Before you do anything, go to the Getting Started category just below and read every thing in that category. That especially goes for the Five Simple Rules. If you can live with the rules then take take some time to look at all the categories and the forums that are here. There aren't many posts yet because this is a brand new board. As time and membership grows so will the content.
If you look at the page header on this board under Darksider's Realm it says,"A message board & forum for automotive builders, fabricators and customizers who think outside the box." That pretty much explains the intent and purpose of this board. Some people have told me that they think this board might be a level beyond their knowledge and expertise, and therefore it might be over their head. Yes, I'm sure that may sometimes be the case, but it is also a reason to get involved. Many people have ideas and interests along these lines but they just don't know where to start. I suggest you make this the starting place and look at it as a way to learn. After all, there are no Darksider Training Schools. This is as much a place to learn as it is to exchange ideas, methods, techniques and information.
We offer all the features of the big guy's boards, yet none of the aggravations. We are not a for profit operation. We do not ask for or accept support donations. Not Now, Not Ever... There are no rules requiring you to post so many times to get certain privileges. Every thing you can do here is available for every member from the very first post. There are no grade levels here. It doesn't matter if you have posted once or a thousand times. That sort of system serves no useful purpose here.
One brief note to visitors: If you decide to register there is one part of the process that is rather tricky. After entering your choice of user name, password and e-mail you click on the send button. After that the screen changes slightly and you will see what appears to be a white box. The printing above it is so dark you can hardly read it. Just put your password there again and press send again. It is just a confirmation of your password. I am trying to fix this but I didn't write the software and I am having a tough time getting it fixed. If you go to www.pvpmedia.com/REGISTRATION.doc you can read and download or print an instruction sheet with the details for registration.
So, grab your favorite beverage, sit back, and take the time to look things over. If you think this is for you then we would really like to have you join us.
