DARKSIDER In the world of automotive hobbyists a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. Hi Folks,

For those of you that havn't heard about or seen my two '53s and the plans I have for them, it might be best to go check out www.Darkside53.info (you might want to turn down the sound when you look). Take a bit of time to look things over on that site over and then return to this thread.

If you have read my project plans you will have an idea what I am up to.

I have some questions about stuff I'd like to do to the doors.

I am thinking of incorporating some later model door handles and latch mechanisms. One possibility is the mechamisms out of an '89 Lincoln Mark 7 and also using the numeric key code entry pad. I'm wondering if anyone here has tried any alternatives similar to this.

Another mod I have in mind is eliminating the vent wing window as I will have AC and I just won't need them. On at least one of the trucks I want to fill ion a small triangle at the leading edge of the window opening where the wing window was to mount a set of late model remote comtrol mirrors. This would require that I find a source for the door glass runs that would work for my application.

I will probably adapt power window motors and mechanisms from donors as opposed to buying high dollar after market kits that usually end up having to be modified in some form.

Since nothing is ever carved in stone with me I am always interested in what kind of ideas others have. Feel free to suggest and even criticize my plans and ideas. I may not always take advice but I alway consider it.

I hope to hear from some of you guys on the above stuff as well as anything else you see in my plans.

    Later Folks...
