DARKSIDER In the world of automotive hobbyists a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. Question for those that may have seen it done? Empty Question for those that may have seen it done?

Several years ago, when the Supernationals was in Pigeon Forge, I saw a 53-55 F100 that had the windshield glued in and used some of the late model style windshield molding to trim it out. It was one of the cleanest ways of installing the windshield that I have seen. I never got a chance to talk to the owner about how he pulled that off.

Anybody seen this done, or had any experience with this type installation? I'm aware that the windshield is smaller than the surrounding flanges that it would be glued to. Since my top is chopped, I'll be ok at the top and bottom. I'll have to make some allowances at the "A" post area.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
Somehow I managed to miss this post when you put it up. I guess I mistook it for one I had seen already. You raise an intetresting point herer that I had never considered. The glue-in windshields I have seem usually have a pre-attached vinyl trim piece on them that laps out over the edge of the surrounding metal. I don't know if that stuff is available as a seperate product. I would suggest going to a good auto-glass shop and asking questions. I would recommend going to a privately owned shop as opposed to one of the corp. chain outfits.

    Later Man...
