ok doke . i promised to lay out a few ideas i got for that bird i am presently beating on for your amusement . be gentle as i might be crabby and get nasty ... LOL !!!!!!!!!! been kicking around the idea of taking the rear sub from the 93 parts car and converting it from the ind. rear suspension to a solid axle with ladder bars , coil overs , and a diagnal link to center it . i'm being told both ways that irs can then cant handle the repeated abuse of drag racing . it really hinges on the weight of the irs compared to the weight of the above mentioned idea too . no four links as too many adjustments will get me into deep doodoo ...... also thinking of ditching the 4r70w for a c-4 or a gm trans , a 200r4 that i've been tossing around putting in the 53 behind the flatty . again it seems to be wishy washy as to wether its believed they can take repeated abuse , and the damn parts to upgrade it aren't cheap !!!!!!!!!!! found out that a manual rack from a 79to99 i think stang will fit it thus ditching the psteering as well as the ac and losing a few horsey robbing pounds . just gotta find a way or parts to convert the mustang tie rod ends to that of an mn 12 platform car . the engine ??? damn those 4.6's are pricey !! got a few idea's kicking around as i really want to run it but nothing set in concrete as i'm a tight a-- . welp gotta run it's back to work in the mernin' . oh yeah did i mention completely gutting it for weight , roll cage , and building sub connectors and welding every factory body seem solid instead of the spots there now ??????????? later guy's

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/features/mmfp_0606_1993_ford_thunderbird/index.html From the article in link: I think this is the same car I have pictures of from some years back. Nice clean build, though with a 351W. I can send the pics through email. I have a video of a similar car going down the track with a carbed 4.6L that was quite impressive. If I find the video, I'll post it.

thanks scott ! like seeing that stuff . the bird forum i got dragged to by one of our fte cohorts is chock full of guys running these and the cougars and mark 8's at almost ridiculous times in the 1/4 mile but at a premium cost to their wallet !!! been kinda chatting with a couple of customers and anderson ford in clinton thereselves , a ford motorsport dealer who seems to be the guy's to see for the mod motors around here , and looks like the cheapest im gonna get to the 300 mark in power is gonna be about 3-5 thousand bucks . oh well you wanna play ya gotta pay ........ kindalike you and your mod swap , i really am beggining to like the lil' mod . it's the second one i've had , and the more i drive it the more potential i see and feel in it . it's kinda uncharted territory with these electronic baby's outside of plug and play stuff like programmers , so it'll be a learning experience . think i might keep the irs and forego the expense of the other seeing as that guy's running 11's on it . later on ..................

welp not doing the tranny swap . we pulled the tranny pan and changed the fluid and filter again at the suggestion of my cuz who was a tranny tech for the fords at an all trans shop , and changed them to make sure we got the contaminants outta the tranny that was messing with it when i bought it . when we dropped it he just smiled and was peering up in it , got some tools and started pulling things down . someones been through the 4r70w before , put some as he put it ' QUALITY " parts in it i.e he mentioned art carr a couple of times , not sure though and it has a shift kit in it . i kinds thought it did as it at half throttle will break the tires loose , chirp 'em hard , at the low to two, and two to three shift . and someone has put a hypertech "chip" in it . pulled the kick panel and accessed the brain to get the fancy door lock code off it and the brain itself's code for a planned future reprogramming from scp and discovered it . would account for some of it seeming kinda peppier than i figured with the 3.08 gears , and no speed limiter . worries me though as i have been told that jet and hypertech programs have a tendency to burn up ford brains ............... welp i'm off to work again .. sheez 4 am comes to fast ..............
