Darksider's Realm

(this is not a place for lazy video game freaks. We Darksiders have been around doing our thing for decades before the mindless couch blobs latched onto the term Darksider)

DARKSIDER In the world of automotive hobbyists a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. The Darksiders are in a class of their own simply because they endeavor to be different and do things that others would not attempt for a number of reasons mostly being related to a lack of ability and fear of non conformity.

This is a forum for people who think outside the box in everything they do. It doesn’t matter if you are modifying or building from scratch. It doesn’t matter what brand or brands of vehicles or components you are using. It doesn’t matter if you are working on a mini car or a bus.

We will not be asking you for donations or any kind of monetary payments. We will be asking for help in terms moderators and encouraging you to spread the word and add to our membership.

I guess the Everything Else category is intended for this...

Just on the off chance that one of you guys knows where I might find this, I thought I'd try and ask here.

I'm looking for one of those old aircraft type DC generators that puts out 48 volts DC. Guys used to make welders out of them but I need it as a suplement and back-up to my 48 volt battery bank that powers a big UPS I liberated from a main frame computer room. My battery bank will only last an hour but if I have a DC generator that I can run on natural gas I can keep things going fo a long time. I have an AC generator but the power from that thing is dirty and it tends to be nasty for all my electronics and computer stuff as well as the LAN system here.

If anyone knopws where I can find one of these relics I would like to have one. I gave two aweay ten or so years ago and now i wish I hadn't.

    Later Folks...

I have some experiance in this i have been off grid since 2003,What if you used a pure sinewave inverter 48volt with a built in charger. I can send you some info if you like.
