DARKSIDER In the world of automotive hobbyists a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. The Darksiders are in a class of their own simply because they endeavor to be different and do things that others would not attempt for a number of reasons mostly being related to a lack of ability and fear of non conformity.

This is a forum for people who think outside the box in everything they do. It doesn’t matter if you are modifying or building from scratch. It doesn’t matter what brand or brands of vehicles or components you are using. It doesn’t matter if you are working on a mini car or a bus.

I have tried to put categories and forums on this board to cover all aspects of the Darkside as it applies to custom and modified vehicles. I have even taken some criticism for having too much here. I don't really think that is a viable complaint or problem because it is easy to bookmark or create a shortcut on your desktop to a particular category or forum and never see any of the rest of the stuff on this board. I am a member of the FTE and I do that there. I don't think I have seen their homepage for a year or so.

The point here is that I am almost sure there will sooner or later become a need for a new forum or category here. I don't have any new things in mind because I think I have covered about everything. However, if any of you folks think we need something new, either PM me or post your idea here.

Unlike the big commercial boards that never want to be bothered with this sort of thing, this board is for and by the members and every effort will be made to accomodate the membership. In spite of what the big boys tell you, it's no big deal to create new categories and forums.

    Later Folks...

Have you thought about adding a chat room? Might be fun, but then again it could get crazy.

I have thought of that but I'm not sure what i would have to do. It would have to be a feature of the provided software. So far I have had my hands full just trying to get more participation from our existing members. Maybe if the membership gets big enough, a chat room would be the way to go. It is something to consider in the future I think. The one on the FTE doesn't seem to work with IE and even with Mozilla it seems to have problems.

I think it is phpBB2. I would have to look. I have an idea. Would you like to be more involved??? If so I can set your level to ADMINISTRATOR. It would be great to have someone like you to help out here. You seem to know a lot about this stuff. If I set your level there you can get into all the background stuff and have a look see for yourself. All I ask is that you discuss it with me before we make any additions or changes.

    Dave,
If its phpBB2 Give a couple of days to do some read, I need to know the basics of that program before I try to work on it. If its anything like phpBB3 It shouldn't be to bad.

    George,

PM me in regard to the Administrator thing. It would give you access to the meat of this software they are using. You are way beyond me on this stuff. Your help and participation would be greatly appreciated and welcome if you would want to be involved here. I think you can see what my mission vision here is.
