DARKSIDER In the world of automotive hobbyists a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. The Darksiders are in a class of their own simply because they endeavor to be different and do things that others would not attempt for a number of reasons mostly being related to a lack of ability and fear of non conformity.

This is a forum for people who think outside the box in everything they do. It doesn’t matter if you are modifying or building from scratch. It doesn’t matter what brand or brands of vehicles or components you are using. It doesn’t matter if you are working on a mini car or a bus.

My current project is a 55 F100 that I've owned for over 20 years. When I first got this truck it was in really rough shape. I started off by yanking out the 302 and auto trans. and removing the junk bed. The front suspension was a cobbled up frame clip from unknown origin, so it got cut off and prepared for a frame clip out of a 70 chevelle. I got the clip installed and started on chopping the top. Now I'm one of those guys that like the mail slot windows that you see in a lot of hot rods. I've always thought they had a rather sinister look. So I cut 6" out of my top. I got all of the metalwork roughed in and then the truck got set on the back burner for a number of years while other projects got in the way. I started back to actively working on it about 2 years ago. This photo was made when I was fabbing the bed and roll pan.
