    Hi Folks,
Last monthe when I transported some stuff and a motorcycle down South I stayed a few days with my son near Atlanta. I decided I did not want a empty trailer on the way back so I started looking at the local Craig's List listings for old cars and trucks. I started with a list of about forty prospects and after some calls I narrowed that down to less than twenty. After looking at everything in my price category I ended up buying and bringing home a 1960 Studebaker Lark. After I got back home I bought a '54 Ford COE cab that I have a good later model chassis and drive train donor for. Unfortunately I already have two other projects going so I think this one needs to be sold and converted to money for other ongoing projects.

I think this would be a great starter project for someone because it runs, drives and the brakes work. The external body panels are in good shape and someone already welded in floor panels. The paint job is not great but at least it kept it from getting worse. All the glass is intact. I'd say a little sanding and new paint would go a long way toward mking this thing look great. Of course these things are very rare but they are not worth a lot when restored. They work better to make a street rod out of. The wheels are located way out at the corners and the suspension needs very little work to make them handle really good. They have tons of room under the hood and are great candidates for putting in small block V-8s like Chevy 350s or Ford H.O. 302s and 4.6L DOHC engines. I have put it up on Craig's list here locally with the option to do work on it for any buyer. I'd love to see this thing with a great drive train. It would be a hell of a sleeper and it would scare the hell out of those snot nosed little rice burner pilots. If I wasn't 66 I'd store it for later. I just have way too much to do. Check out the pictures below. The paint sucks and all the trim is in the car.

Nice pics. Ya those Larks are kinda cool. Of course I hated them when they were new, but now they have a unique/uncommon "period" look that appeals to me. They're a nice size car. A little bigger than a compact but not like a full size sedan of that era. Someone could make something nice with it.

That Supercoupe driveline would've probably dropped right in there.

That crossed my mind as a backup plan if there is no way to work out the fit in the Radio Flyer. I originally bought the car in GA so I wouldn't be coming back empty. I would really like to sell the car. I'm only looking to make a few hundred on it which will only cover the cost of hauling it back.

Yeah, I have had that effect work both ways. Like who would have ever thought I'd want a '50 Buick boat tail. On the other hand, I liked a lot of cars back in the day of their promenance that I don't care for at all now.

Ya..Same here..My tastes change over time..I guess its to be expected. A lot of cars are "fashion pieces"..not all..and styles come and go.
