Well that's what I hope my next project will be. I am trying to make a swap or trade with a junk man for a basketcase one. Plans are for a Ranger/exploder frame and 4x4 running gear, not sure whether to go 4.0 or v/8. I was a lifetime ford hater until 1) I bought a $100 ranger for a work truck, 2) Ford didn't accept the "stimulus money" and subsequent govt takeover. It's hard to get the G.M. ideology out of my head though, I had many good years with small block chevies and r series oldsmobiles. Still drive an 02 gmc crewcab for a "family car".

Willys update
I made a deal to swap an antique metal lathe for a willys wagon, along with more junk for a 4.0 ranger to use as a donor for suspension etc. Now to get the daughters dollhouse built for Christmas so I have room to get it in the garage.

swap deal. no mas
I went to see about getting the willys out of the yard, and decided I was not willing to trade my lathe for it after all. the drivers side was pretty decent, but I had not looked at the passenger side nearly enough. the b pillar is pushed in, the door is fubar, the windshield frame looks as though they put a hook in it and picked the whole thing up....The donor ranger has no trans or transfer case. I may still get the 4.0 and harness to put in my '87 ranger in place of the worn out 2.9, but haven't been able to find out if it's still in running condition. It had been covered, but the wind blew the tarp to shreds, so now it's out in the open with a rag stuffed in the throttle body.
