HERE'S ONE FOR YA',
Almost two years ago I bought a Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 39 plasma cutter. I tried it a couple of times and it didn't work too well. I took it to a local authorized distributor who sent it to their shop about a hundred miles away. Three months later I got it back. They said there was nothing wrong with it and charged me $65.00. I disagreed but what could I do. I struggled with it and learned to use it in spite of it's problems. I didn't like paying the $65.00 for what was supposed to have a four year parts and labor warranty. I later found some loose connections and that seemed to fix it. Last week I was using it and it just stopped in the middle of a cut and would not work at all. I took it apart and checked a lot of the components like air pressure switches and solenoid valve., as well as the switches in the torch. I finally called Thermal Dynamics and they set me up with another shop about110 miles from here. I talked to those guys and they set it up to send me a board for it. I changed the board and it worked for about 15 seconds and blew the 20 amp ckt. breaker in my shop panel as well as shooting some fire off the board. I called them again and now I have to take it to that shop. Up until now I though Thermal Dynamics was a good brand because I have used their welding machines and I really liked them. I'm not so sure now. I guess I'll be down and out for another week or two now when I really need the thing. Now I'm thinking of selling it. If it doesn't work out this time I'm done with these folks. I can't afford them. Maybe it's just me...
