    Hi Folks,
    Well, it appears the advertising invasion has begun... I have noticed that when you view a profile there is now an ad placed there. I suppose it was too good to be true and at some point they would start with this. Hopefully they will keep that stuff off of the forum pages. Like the saying goes, "There is no free lunch..."

    I had hoped this would not happen but I probably should have known better.

    They have to let their cookies track what's going on so they can target what they consider to be relevant, aimed, advertisements. You know if they start pasting adds for Bra's not the kind that go on the Snoot of a vehicle either) we'd be offended & stop using the site. . . .
    I'm sure it's based somewhere in the text of Marshal McCluhans "Media & the Masses" wherein he cites and discusses various psychologies & behavioral patterns, & nuances one must abide by to get into the psyches of people frequenting media, albeit the TV, film, and yes even "PCs" worm into our consciousness to varying degrees. . . .
    ya see the reason the pharmaceutical companies advertise prescription drugs during prime time hours is, we become conditioned into thinking we "know" about them because we become familiar with names they make up & use to market their products.
    I mean think about what they tell us to do:. . . . . "Ask your Physician if XYZ Drug is for you.. WAIT A minute? Are we not actually paying our Doctors to treat us and prescribe what medication they think we may need? Why should I ask about a drug I can't even buy and probably don't really need? HA ha ha Ain't Edu great    .

    Dave,

    I can't deal with the forum colors. Black as a background does not work with blue or red or even white when white is not bold. In short, I can't read anything. You have to make some way for those like me to switch to white as a background.

    Unfortunately the "skin" of the forum is not changable at this point. However, I will see what I can do to make the default font bigger and bolder if you think that will work for you. I usually make my posts bigger and change the color. I do know it makes the stuff easier to read. I also think the font size is too small. How about this ???

    Well I spent a little time and by hitting Ctl ++ you can increase the zoom in the screen you are viewing. Because my monitor is 20" and I use 1280 x 1074 resolution on the screen, websites that were optimized for 480 x 600 appear with small text when run in 1280 which is 3 resolution steps higher. So when going to a site that is unreadable, use the zoom in command to make it larger.

    Alan,

    Yeah, I didn't think of suggesting that although I was aware it could be done. It is not a perfect solution but it does help. I have been in contact with the people that are supposed to know about this stuff but so far their suggestions did not work. I am thinking there are server end restrictions that are preventing making the change to a larger default font. For that you have my apology but it doesn't really fix the problem. Hopefully we can live with this until there is a solution.

    Your indulgence is greatly appreciated in this matter.
