I'm a little sad on this one

Dad just sent me this picture. I learned to drive in the '55 F-350 when I was quite young. Her wheathered, and aged appearance makes me sad. I plan on a full ground up concours perfect restoration for this old '55 F-350 Express.

Yeah, the old gal's savable. As much family history, and stories I can tell with this old thing, I don't think I can do anything dark to her. I know she won't fit in here to well, but maybe she'll end up being the "Granny Smith," or "Aunt Jemima" of the Darksiders Realm." Lol. She's gonna stay red, so I think granny smith prolly works the best. I showed the pictures to my boss this morning. His immediate response...."man Joe we gotta get that old truck up here and start rebuilding her." I said I aint got the room right now, his reply was "get her up to the shop and start tearing it down." So, I know I have a good location for the restoration. I have a body shop picked out already, and a metal shop that can handle rebuilding the bed sides for me, or the whole bed if needs be. I have a machine shop that can handle rebuilding the heads, and installing hardened valves, seats, and guides for unleaded gas, and I guess there will be adrop or two of dark in there as I do think I'll end up with a .010 over bore. I want to keep stock rods and mains though. I'm going to go back to the canister type filter, 6 volt positive ground wiring. I think I'll send the wheels to Stockton or something and have them welded up, or rebuilt into non Widow-Makers. We'll see, since dad is going to help with the costs. It's gonna be neat rebuilding the very truck that was as much a part of our family, as our family itself.
