Hi guys, my name is Dave Holmes, most people call me Holmsey. I live in the Uk but dream of living in the US and have all my life. To old now to change but I still dream.!!!
I love Hot Rods and street rods, but own a Custom Truck, a 1955 F100 that has taken me just under 4yrs to build. I have a web site that catalogues my build at www.uk-hotrods.co.uk my build is hidden away at the bottom on the contents page. I hope to be an active member of this group and look forward to talking with you guys in the US that do actually live the dream. Hang Loose.

    Holmsey,

I just finished reading about your 55 build. It was really entertaining. You did a great job documenting your progress. I can never remember to stop and take pictures.

Your truck turned out great. Looks like all your hard work paid off. It has the perfect stance, and I really like all the custom touches that you did.

    Welcome to the site!!

    Hey Dave,

Sorry I didn't get to this earlier but I have been a bit busy with stuff. Just wanted to comment on a few thing you wrote. First off, I understand about being too old to move. My son says I should move to the Atlanta, Georgia area where he lives. Sorry, I love him, but it ain't gonna happen. Even if I wanted too it would take forever to get all my stuff moved.

I would like to extend an invitation to you if you should ever decide to visit the US. I have a travel trailer that we only use about once a year and the rest of the time we have it set up here for guests and relatives. It will easily acomodate two people in comfort and it has all the modern conveniences. It affords our guests a privacy that is hard to match when everybody is in one house. You can stay a day, a week or a month, it's up to you. Maybe it's a way to experience what we do here without costing you a King's ransom. I am retired and spend most of my time in the shop so expect to get your hands dirty. My wife is also retired and she would be glad to spend time with your wife I am sure. We would really like to have you visit. September is a really good month to visit, big local festival and big car and truck show.

    Later Man...

Hi guys thanks for the kind words it is real cool of you. WoW Dave that really would be fantastic and if I thought there was any chance of me doing that I most certainly would. But life and work mean I don't get more than a week off from work and then my wife likes to sit on a beach in Spain so I have to do as I am told and keep her company ;o)

I have found you guys in the states are so welcoming and friendly I know it would be a blast and just a dream for me, and as you say I would bet even my shy wife would enjoy it.
If I ever get to the situation were work (my brother and I are partners in a very small jewellery business)could do without me.. I's a coming ;o).. Great thought and I thank you very much for making it as I know you mean it. Having read your invite really has put a smile on my face.. x
