DARKSIDER In the world of automotive hobbyists a Darksider is one who modifies and or customizes any and all sorts of vehicles. The Darksiders are in a class of their own simply because they endeavor to be different and do things that others would not attempt for a number of reasons mostly being related to a lack of ability and fear of non conformity.

This is a forum for people who think outside the box in everything they do. It doesn’t matter if you are modifying or building from scratch. It doesn’t matter what brand or brands of vehicles or components you are using. It doesn’t matter if you are working on a mini car or a bus.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm Darkside Dave, the guy who started this mess. I'd like for new members to stop by here and tell us a few things about what you are into regarding what you do with your particular type or kind of vehicle or vehilcles. It would also help if you could elaborate a bit on the standard stuff that goes into your profile. Let us know about your shop and where you live for instance.

It is my intention to bring together a lot of people with a lot of different ideas that can be shared here to the benefit of all members.

Let me start this off by saying that I live in SE Ohio outside the town of Marietta which is on the Ohio River and next to I-77 which runs from Cleveland,OH to Columbia, SC. I am a retired IBEW industrial and commercial construction electrician. I Have two retirement businesses. One is a fabrication and repair shop and the other is s Custom & Clasic car transprt service. You can chek them out at www.WFMservice.com and www.Rides4Rides.com. I am basically into customizing and upgrading old trucks like my two '53 Ford F-100s You can check them out at www.Darkside53.info where I will be keeping everyone posted on the progress.

    Later Folks...

As I spend time on the site, I find myself missing the main ongoing posting of generally BS and what I worked on today, or what I did this weekend, or look at the garage find that I bought. Kinda like the hamb site but without the strict traditional built guidelines. It seems we have so much to choose from to post in that it's kinda like going to a restaurant and looking at a menu with so much stuff on it you don't know what to order. I'm not sure if I am getting my point across, but I thought I would throw it at you for thought.

    Hi Andrew,
I think I see what you are getting at. However, I wanted to attract more than just the hard core Ford guys. Everyone has their favorites and I expect them to hang out in those areas. Maybe they will cross over to other areas from time to time. I guess I'm mostly a Ford guy but I know lots of guys into other stuff and it's not unusual for Datksiders to cross breed a lot of components.

Using the restaurant analogy it might help to think of it this way. Most people go to a restaurant and pretty much get the same thing all the time. Yet not everyone in the place orders the same thing. If the restaurant only had one or two things they wouldn't last long. I know a guy who has started a board dedicated to one particular vehicle type and not a very popular one at that. I think they have maybe four or five members. And it has been online for two months now.

The FTE has more categories than I have here and they seem to get along OK.

I suggest that when you come here you go to yoru favorite table or booth and visit with you favorite people just as you would do in a real restaurant. This restaurant will always try to have what you want. Just forget about all that other stuff on the menue that you are not interested in.
